As a European Sales Manager at Detectamet UK, you will drive the company’s growth and market presence across Europe. You will lead sales strategies, build strong relationships with key stakeholders, and achieve revenue goals. Your responsibilities will include:
Sales Strategy and Execution
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to drive growth in European markets.
- Identify new business opportunities, markets, and potential clients to expand the company’s footprint.
- Set and achieve sales targets, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
Account Management
- Build and nurture strong, long-term relationships with key accounts and distributors across Europe.

Market Development
- Conduct market research to understand trends, customer preferences, and competitive landscapes in European markets.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Professional Experience
- At least 5-7 years of sales experience, with a proven track record of success in European markets.
- Experience in B2B sales, preferably within the manufacturing, food safety, or industrial sectors.
- Demonstrable success in managing key accounts and developing new business opportunities.
- Familiarity with European trade regulations and market-specific nuances.
Sales and Leadership Skills
- Strong ability to develop and execute sales strategies that deliver measurable results.
- Excellent negotiation and closing skills, with a focus on building long-term client relationships.
- Leadership experience, including managing and mentoring sales teams to achieve targets.
Technical and Analytical Skills
- Proficiency in CRM systems (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce) to manage the sales pipeline and track performance.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret sales data, identify trends, and forecast revenue.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Language and Communication
- Fluency in English and at least one additional European language (e.g., German, French, or Spanish) is highly desirable.

Education and Qualifications

About the role
The Health Safety & Environmental Manager (HSE) is responsible for providing HSE support, advice and solutions, ensuring compliance, and developing best practice on health and safety issues for Detectamet’s UK operations.
Working closely with the senior management team and the operational business to champion, communicate and ensure the delivery of the HSE strategy with the objective of making the business safe and keeping it safe against existing and emerging health and safety, fire safety, security and environmental risks.
Building HSE competence and capability through the delivery of HSE support, training, audit and review.
Supporting the senior management to implement, review and audit best practice HSE management systems and contributing to the development of robust, innovative health, safety and environment standards, policies, guidance and practice.
Duties & responsibilities
- Provide proactive, efficient and professional HSE advice, coaching and support to our UK facility.
- Work with site managers and operations teams to communicate and drive compliance with HSE standards to ensure a safe working environment.
- Ensure that effective management of health, safety and environment is embedded at an operational level within the business, and that managers and employees at all levels are aware of their HSE responsibilities.
- Contribute to the development of and support the effective implementation of the HSE strategy.
- Support environmental compliance, including conducting reviews, to ensure the business is fully compliant with relevant environmental requirements.
- Support the identification, communication and implementation of existing, new and/or revisions to existing environmental regulations.
- Support and coordinate environmental compliance tasks.
- Managing the EHS standards, including ISO 45001/14001, to maintain compliance and focus on best practice.
About the sucessful candidate
- Nebosh Diploma in Health and Safety. Environmental Diploma.
- Chartered member of IOSH.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a global team.
- Strong people management and leadership skills, including facilitation, training, and mentoring skills.
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
- Pragmatic approach with ability to effectively balance technical and commercial demands.
- Strong project/problem resolution skills.
- Proven experience with Safety and Health Management Systems (ISO 45001), Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001).
- Ability to identify, develop and deliver effective safety training.
- Highly effective communication skills; written and oral.
- Confident with the use of IT systems, e-learning platforms and software. Understanding of applicable computer systems, such as Microsoft Office, SharePoint, databases, and function specific software.
